The TR8 is a great performance tool for touring with that keeps your 909 safe and damage free.but its not a 909 and never will be until they evolve it. Ill just leave this example of my ending a festival with a 909, the hihats accenting alone (tr8 global accents) are enough to prove my point, and thats before i even start with the rest. Perhaps you've taken too many drugs, or dont know the 909 that well? People say they are buying them because they think there's nothing like the sound of the original in their music, hello.!!! no one can tell a 909 kick sample from a 909 that's been recorded to a DAW as part of a track.they're both recordings, and if you are one of these who claim they can tell the difference, then you aren't taking enough drugs, if people are buying them because they believe the real thing is better than anything else, then they are simply kidding themselves, you're better off saying you bought one because you want to be able to show it off to your friends or post pictures onto forums as part of your cool collection of hipster analog electronics.Īgree about the recorded audio in DAW part, but the rest, Sorry but your just wrong, end of story. Why has the TR-909 in particular value gone up so much I've seen tr-808s go for less than $3000 but not one tr-909 go for less than $3000 ebay prices. This is a very strange market, you would think with all the clones out there the price would come down and I remember when the TR-808 was always much more than the TR-909 but it seems to be changing.

This is mind boggling to me being that there are so many of the so called clones including the brand new and affordable roland TR-8 with many upgraded features and many more clones not to mention countless software and samples easily obtainable. I have seen them between $3000 and $4000 dollars WOW !!! I've seen the TR-808 even go cheaper. Way up in many cases even more than the TR-808. They are going for nowadays and to my surprise the prices have seem to gone up If all the features and options are too overwhelming, though, you can also just smash the Jumble button which randomizes your selected instrument’s sequence, to provide extra inspiration.I was just admiring my Roland TR-909 and decided to check out the prices There is a built-in compressor to add depth to your pattern, an adjustable swing knob to create a human feel and an option to adjust the impact of accented notes. The ER-99 lets you edit the sequences of different bars, from one to four, with the option to edit the length of each bar. The bass drum has both attack and decay, as well as drive, tuning and a handy envelope over the pitch, while the snare has a ring control. The drums themselves have a number of separate controls to create your desired sound.

You can also sequence out your drums simply by clicking on the buttons of the 16-step sequencer in the same way you would with a real 909 drum machine. Sounds on the ER-99 are triggered through the keyboard’s keys from 1-9 and 0, appropriately, however, you can also plug in a MIDI keyboard if you would prefer, but be warned – doing so may cause latency issues. Included in the TR-99 are all the drums you’d expect: the bass drum, snare drum, low, mid and hi toms, rim shot and hand clap, a closed hi hat and open hi hat and two cymbals. In addition to faithfully modeling the TR-909’s analog circuitry, our software version uses the original sample ROM and models the early digital technology present in the vintage hardware.
